Card payments

Cash is always on, and the POS works out the change.

Card: the guest pays on your own card machine, and the POS records it.

Toast's guide for restaurants in Australia, Canada, Ireland and the UK says card payments are started on the POS and taken on a connected card reader or a Toast Go 3 or S1 handheld. (Source, )

Devices

A laptop, a tablet or a phone you already have. The BillDine app runs on Android phones and tablets with Android 8.0 or newer: the POS, the kitchen screen and the back office. On an iPhone, an iPad or a computer, BillDine runs in the browser.

Toast POS devices are touchscreen Android tablets running the Toast app — as order terminals, kiosks, handhelds, kitchen display screens and payment terminals — with settings and reports on Toast Web from a computer. (Source, )

Kitchen screens

Every order reaches the kitchen as a ticket — on a screen, on paper, or both.

Kitchen screens are unlimited on every plan.

Without the internet

If the internet drops, the POS keeps selling — orders, kitchen tickets, printing the bill and cash — and sends everything when the connection returns. A POS terminal sells offline for up to 72 hours unless the outlet changes it.

In Offline Mode, Toast says its POS and Toast Go handhelds can still take new orders; accept card payments as long as background card processing is enabled (it is on by default); print receipts and open cash drawers as long as Ethernet cables stay connected; and send tickets to a hardwired kitchen display when the network meets Toast's offline requirements. Toast Online Ordering cannot receive orders while offline. (Source, )

Countries

Open for sign-up in India, Malaysia, Maldives, Netherlands, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States.
