- Does BillDine handle GST on restaurant bills in India?
- A new outlet's menu prices are before GST, and the bill adds it. You can change that in Settings → Billing rules → Taxes. A business registered for GST starts from ready-made tax groups: GST 5%. You can check and change them in Taxes. With a regular GST registration, a business's bill is titled “Tax Invoice”. Without one, it prints “Bill of Supply”, with no tax on it.
- Which payments can a restaurant in India take?
- Cash is always on, and the POS works out the change. Card: the guest pays on your own card machine, and the POS records it. UPI: the POS shows a QR from your UPI ID for the exact amount, and the guest pays with any UPI app. Your own methods too, such as meal vouchers, recorded at the POS. You pay for BillDine itself in Indian rupees, through Razorpay Checkout.

- On BillDine's servers and database at DigitalOcean, and its files at Supabase. Each business's data is kept apart from every other's and encrypted on its way to and from BillDine. The Privacy Policy lists every provider that helps us and where each one keeps data.
- Does BillDine work without the internet?
- Yes, the POS does. If the internet drops, it keeps selling and saves orders on the device: dine-in, takeaway and delivery orders, kitchen tickets, printing the bill and cash payments. It sends everything when the connection returns. The POS must have been online recently; it sells offline for up to 72 hours.
